He arrived in Canada 1954 where he married Betty and had a family consisting of Tony David Kevin and Dawn. Derick worked as a electrical technician in various Ontario industries. As per Derick's request there will be no funeral or memorial. He was cremated and the ashes will go back to his daughter's location in Lion's Head, Ontario.
