Paul writes to notify the ONTARS community:
Hi Barry:
So, the door to beautiful Belize for us is closing for
the last time,
and we'll be staying in beautiful Ontario instead from
now on.
As a farewell from Belize, I'm going to have one final
schedule on the radio
with the hope that I'll be able to hear as many of you
as possible on the air.
I'll be on 14.180 Mhz +/- at 2100z this coming Wednesday,
April 20.
This frequency allows our American friends to join in,
too.
I'll be pointing the hexbeam North to NE to catch Ontario
and European stations primarily.
Barry and Richard, please put out the word to the ONTARS
community,
and my Peterborough friends, please spread the word to
the club to extend my invitation.
My thanks go to Rob VE3PCP for providing his remote station
VE3IHR in Inverhuron ON
that allowed me to keep in touch with my Ontario Amateur
Radio Service (ONTARS) friends while away in Belize.
Many thanks to my neighbour Robert V31AE who has helped
me in many ways over the past 11 years
getting my radio and antennas up and working.
When my IC7300 radio burned out while I was on Caye Caulker
4 years ago,
he very generously loaned me a Kenwood transceiver for
the rest of my stay, which really saved my vacation.
I am very grateful to Eric V31EC, who lives nearby, for
taking ownership of my antennas - the hexbeam,
the 40 meter vertical by the sea, and the 80-meter doublet,
and helping me to dismantle them this coming Sunday,
April 24,
after which V31AX will be Off The Air! ??............
Revised Operating Schedule
14.180 MHz (+/- 5khz) USB at 2100Z
(1600 EST)
Wednesday 20th April 2022
Cu soon
